The roots of Koellmann Gear go back to 1904, when Zahnräderfabrik Köllmann GmbH was founded in Leipzig. As early as 1907, the company was the first specialist factory to manufacture rear axles and change gears for the automotive industry. After the Second World War, the decisive turning point came in 1955: the takeover by Maschinenfabrik Ernst Thielenhaus. In 1964, all divisions were united at the new Wuppertal site. In 2002, Koellmann was integrated into Thielenhaus Technologies GmbH as a business unit. The subsidiary founded in New Jersey (USA) in 1974 and the production facility opened in Shanghai in 2007 ensure our strong presence on the international markets.

Our expertise is particularly evident in plastics processing, where we are a global leader with our extruder gearboxes. Our portfolio also includes innovative solutions for process engineering and the textile and paper industry. Our products stand for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness. We support our customers in the design of their projects with technical expertise and also provide ongoing support with our service team.

Our global management
Dr. Christof Traidl manages all activities relating to Koellmann and Koellmann Gear worldwide. His extensive experience comes from founding and managing several companies in the areas of manufacturing, finance, logistics and real estate as well as from top management positions at Daimler, Penske, Magna Powertrain and Neapco Europe.
Dirk von Felbert coordinates Koellmann Gear’s financial interests worldwide in order to strengthen, utilize and expand its global potential.
Koellmann Gear
Frank Laaber has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of management positions in manufacturing, engineering, procurement and logistics. He is a hands-on COO who combines strong commercial skills, a customer-focused mindset and an affinity for technology.
Michael Müller has more than 30 years of experience with management responsibility in the areas of project planning, sales, development, assembly and technology. As COO, his focus is on strong customer orientation and practical relevance.
Mark DeVries has more than 40 years of experience at Koellmann Gear and has worked in management, purchasing, quality control and assembly. As COO, his focus is on production planning and delivering high quality products to our customers.
